9th April, 2018 – Laura Browne

Hello my name is Laura. I’m an assistant psychologist working in CAMHS. I previously worked in the private sector as an assistant psychologist working in brain injury rehabilitation and neurological conditions. I’ve always been passionate about psychology. A close member of my family has severe and enduring mental illness, which meant that I experienced trauma as a child whilst being a carer from a very young age, so as soon as I knew what a psychologist was I wanted to be one! Like many other assistant psychologists I’m applying for a place on clinical training, which is a pretty tough process. I’m also the youngest assistant psychologist within my trust at the ripe old age of 22!

Everyday for me is a learning curve – which is why I’ve fallen in love with this profession!
