April 8th, 2019 – Meredith Schmehl

Meredith Schmehl is a PhD student studying Neurobiology at Duke University in Durham, NC, USA. Her research focuses on how vision and hearing are integrated in the monkey brain. Prior to this, she completed undergraduate degrees in Neuroscience and Cognitive Psychology at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. Outside of her research, Meredith is active in science communication and advocacy by organizing outreach events for K-12 children, writing about science and policy for adult audiences, and co-producing a podcast featuring scientists who study how the gut talks to the brain.
